First Tooth Brush

We bought Nathan is first tooth brush!

He really seems to like it. He makes a funny face when he tastes the toothpaste (It's baby toothpaste), but he keeps chomping on it. I manage to brush his two teeth in between tongue thrusts.  :)

He is just getting so big!  

Nathan's First Charity Walk...MS

Nathan participated in his first charity event today : a walk for Multiple Sclerosis. It was a 5 mile walk in beautiful Old Town Manassas. The sun was out, it was a bit windy at first, but that did not seem to bother Nathan. He has quite the little set up in his stroller. He was comfy cozy in there with his blanket and lullaby music. He likes loves this international lullaby CD that I bought from Discovery Toys. He calms down every time I turn it on, and I knew it would be just the thing to keep him satisfied during a 5 mile walk. It was a lot of fun.

Any how, we walked in honor of Nathan's Nana (Jeffs' Grandma Bev, who has been struggling with MS for quite some time). She is the sweetest woman, and has been like a second Mom to Jeff. He absolutely adores her. So, I handmade some shirts saying that we were walking in support of her. It was fun; it reminded me of being back in high school and making volleyball t-shirts. 

6 Months Old!!!

My happy little man turned 6 months old today. I cannot believe that it has been 6 months since he was born!

So far the milestones he has hit are:

1. Sits up without support

2. From his tummy, he can get on all fours and rocks back and forth.

3. He can pull himself to a sitting and standing position if he holds your fingers.

4. He can grab specific objects and passes them from one hand to the other.

5. He looks for specific toys when he drops them.

6. He holds toys out in front of him and studies them.

7. He rolls from back to front (he can roll from front to back but rarely does).

8. He can hold himself up in a standing position if he holds onto his crib railing.

9. He has his two bottom teeth.

10. He makes a lot of different sounds...no "mama" or "dada" yet :(

I took him outside, out on the porch, to take pictures of him. Did I mention that my little vampire loves hates the sun?! I was surprised that he smiled for me at all. Most of the pictures I took, he is all squinty. When we go for walks or hang out at the park, he always has to have his sunglasses on even if he is wearing a hat.  But he was a good sport and let Mommy take a few pictures of him. I love the Puma outfit he is wearing. I found it at Marshalls for $9.99. I could not pass it up.

Nathan in his cool sunglasses that his Aunt Jamie bought for him before he was born. He never tries to take them off. I think because he HATES the brightness of the sun.

I put him on the slide for the first time. I held him and let him slide down a bit and he seemed to enjoy it. He just looked too cute sitting there so I had to take a picture. 

Teeth...Boogies...and More!

 

 Wow,  what a day! I have to admit that I am absolutely exhausted. Much to my surprise, Nathan's second tooth has made an appearance, and along with it he is experiencing a congestive cough, runny nose, a low grade fever, and moderate irritability. Now, I am not blaming all those things on the teeth...my little guy has a cold. Not fun...for anyone.

He was, for the most part, in a good mood today. Although he looked and felt wrecked.

Jeff's mom sent him a little Easter package. He has fallen in love with a green, stuffed crocodile that we named ""  Booger"  and that is exactly what is all over that croc!

He did have a hard time napping today. For some reason he decided that he was going to fore go his morning nap. Consequently, he took two afternoon naps. It all worked out. Bedtime was a different story. Poor little man was miserable. So, Jeff and I spent a good 2 hours going in and out of his room trying to help him get comfortable and soothed. Normal bedtime is 8 o'clock; it was close to 10pm when this little man finally fell asleep. I do hope he stays that way until the morning!

I took Nathan to see the Easter bunny last week. He did so good. He was actually not interested in the bunny. He liked the photographers! I am very glad that he is not at the age where they scream yet. Even though we do not believe that the bunny has anything to do with Easter, I think it has become a rite of passage for all youngsters to get their picture taken with the Easter Bunny, just like Santa Clause.


Anyways, we rejoice in the truth that Jesus is alive! That He has conquered death! We rejoice in the knowledge that He physically understands every experience that may cross our path, happy or sad. We rejoice, today, that there is LIFE in Christ! That there is JOY!
Praise the Lord!!

And as they went to tell His disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, 'Rejoice!' So they came and held Him by the feet and worshiped Him.


Then Jesus said to them, 'Do not be afraid. Go and tell My brethren to go to Galilee, and there they will see Me.'


Now while they were going, behold, some of the guard came into the city and reported to the chief priests all the things that had happened.

When they had assembled with the elders and consulted together, they gave a large sum of money to the soldiers, saying, 'Tell them, 'His disciples came at night and stole Him away while we slept.'


And if this comes to the governor's ears, we will appease him and make you secure.'


So they took the money and did as they were instructed; and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day.


Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had appointed for them.


When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted.


And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, 'All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.


Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.'

A Few Days Of Fun!

We had the pleasure of having my Aunt, her boyfriend, and my cousin visit us for a few days.
We had a wonderful time. It was the first time we met Donald, and he is the sweetest man. Nathan liked him instantly! They had a little bond. :)
We spent some time in D.C. at the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum and we walked around enjoying the beautiful weather.
Nathan did really well. He even took a few little naps.

We also visited the Reston Zoo. It is a small, private zoo, and it was a lot of fun. They had a large, covered petting zoo that was full of goats, kids, sheep and lambs. Nathan liked the goats almost as much as his daddy!
(Jeff LOVES goats!!)

Needless to say, we had a wonderful few days with the family! We cannot wait to visit with all of them again!
