The Strong Museum of Play, New York

When we were in New York for Thanksgiving, Aunt Debbie took us to the Strong Museum of Play. It was really neat, and there were a lot of things for Nathan to interact with and for Jeff to enjoy!

Like my beanie? Mommy got it for me at Gap's Black Friday sale for 50% off!

Can you tell me how to get, how to get to Sesame Street?

Nathan LOVES Cookie Monster

The mural on the wall gave information on the popular Sesame Street puppets. It was really neat. Jeff liked it! :)

It was a lot of fun for Nathan to run around the place.

The Berenstain Bear exhibit was really cute. There were tons of books to read. Nathan loved the statues. He kept pointing and saying, "Eyes!"

Thanksgiving 2010

We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I know we did! At 1 o'clock on Thanksgiving morning we started our drive up to Farmington, New York to spend a few days with Jeff's Aunt Debbie. We had a very easy drive and Nathan did wonderfully. Initially, he thought that the road trip was fun and spent the first two hours wide awake and talking up a storm. We stopped at Dunkin' Donuts for breakfast and Nathan enjoyed flirting with the girls that worked there. He enjoyed stretching his legs and running around the place...FYI, we are not those parent who let their children run crazy...we were the only ones in there. Anyways, we made it to Aunt Debbie's around 9 am. Nathan immediately felt at home. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner, and Nathan has captured the hearts of Debbie, Matthew, and Grandma Naughty.

Nathan and "Woody"

I know it has been a few weeks, but I have been really busy with school work. Anyways, Gram-moo (Jeff's Mom) sent Nathan a big, stuffed "Woody" doll for his birthday. Nathan was apprehensive completely freaked out by him.

It took a few days, but Nathan got over his fear and now "Woody" and him are best buddies. We were at the mall today and there was a poster with "Woody" on it. My son stood staring and gesturing at it for 15 minutes. I had to pick him up to get him to come along with me.

13 Months Old

Every day Nathan is learning so much. He tries to say every word you ask him to and some you don't. He says "eyes, teeth, yes, dad, hi, milk, oh, yeah, duck, ball" and much more. He also signs "more" and "please". At night, before bed, Nathan and Daddy read two of his Baby Can Read books. Nathan will point to things in the book you ask him to. He will point to his ears, head, he will show you his arm, his muscles, his feet and toes, and I am teaching him how to salute! .He loves the song "If you're happy and you know it"...he will raise his arms up for hooray, and clap his hands and stomp his feet. He loves Old McDonald and Itsy Bitsy Spider. He is learning how to run. He doesn't run with his arms behind his like most babies. He keeps them by his side. He knows how to kick balls and throw the mini beach balls. He loves to pick up his big toys and drop them! There are a lot of crashing sounds in the house now! :)

He is growing bigger every day. He is in between 18 and 24 month clothes. It depends on the brand. He wears a lot of Carter's clothes. I really like how they fit him.  His left bottom molar is popping through, but no sign of the bottom right yet. They sure are taking their time.  He is waking occasionally at night, but I think that is because of the teething. Other than that, he is a great sleeper and napper.

I am working on getting him to use a spoon. He knows that it goes in the bowl, but has not mastered how to scoop food. He is very good at putting the spoon in his mouth. So I help him scoop and let him do the rest. His favorite foods are Jammy Sammies, quinoa, salmon, bananas, fruit bars (we do organic without a lot of additives), scrambled eggs, nutella, pasta, cheese, and ANYTHING and EVERYTHING I eat!

He is so much fun and such a blessing. He loves to give us kisses, and some of my favorite times is when he runs over to me and dives into my arms. He loves to cuddle with his Momma. I cannot believe how fast time is flying. I look at him and he is not a baby anymore. He is growing up so fast, and sometimes I get choked up.
He was crying because I would not give him my cell phone!

Always on the move!

Quinoa!

Nathan decided that he was not going to even attempt to use his spoon, and he was covered in quinoa!

I am so in love with this little boy!
