He had a wonderful 9 month check up! Dr. McEachern said that Nathan looks wonderful..."supreme" was the actual word he used. He is weighing in at 19lbs. 3 oz.(35%) and 30 inches long (93%)! I was a little concerned about his weight, but they reassured me that he is following the curve and is doing fine. The little man loves to eat, so he must get his genetics from his dad. Speaking of eating, Nathan has been slowing down on the nursing. He doesn't seem too interested in nursing during the day, and was showing some signs of dehydration. So, today was the second day that I have been giving him formula during the day at snack times.I am giving him Gerber2, which is for babies 9-24 months.
His meal schedule is as follows:
6/6:30am: Nurse
7:45/8am: breakfast (oatmeal, fruit and yogurt)
10/10:30am: snack (fruit/3-4oz. formula)
12:30/1pm: lunch (veggie/protein/sippy cup of water)
3:00pm: Snack (veggie/ 3-4oz. formula)
6:00pm: Dinner (protein/veggie/fruit/sippy cup of water)
7:30/8:00pm: Nurse
I guess with this kind of schedule it will be easy to wean him in the next few months. I never really wanted to give him formula, but I do not get enough milk when I pump to supplement him during the day.
Anyways, back to the moose...he loves to pull himself to a stand and he is working on moving laterally. He is a fast one. Before I know it he is across the room and pulling himself up on something!
For this picture, I actually asked him to smile and this is the big grin he gave me! He loves to pull himself up and play with his jumper. He is learning to balance himself because that thing wiggles quite a lot!
My little nut loves to be on the couches. He is holding his FAVORITE blanket. Grandma Lisa gave it to him. It is a Taggies, and it has his name and birth date on it. He naps and sleeps with it every day.
This is how I found Nathan napping this afternoon. Apparently, he now knows how to take his diaper off. The diaper was dry, but everything else was soaked! He has his pacifier in his left hand while he is sucking his right thumb...what a nut.
Nathan has been blessed with a lot of other babies to play with. We get together for play dates quite often, and he is really getting along with other babies. Today we went to Kristen and Juna's house. He had a lot of fun! Bella, their dog, came out to visit. Nathan LOVED her. Every time she would leave the playroom, he would chase after her. He got so excited every time she came near him. He wanted to grab her so badly. It was really cute!
